All things must come to an end, but it is great having Paul wear the World Series ring for 2009!  Paul, please find a place befitting of the $1.23 trophy you will receive (just kidding!).  It wouldn't have been right if anyone else had won it this year.  A champion friend is what Paul is mostly.  Congratulations!  So, Dragoons' faithful are lying in the streets of Edinburgh still sipping their malt and scratching their mosquito bites!  On to 2010!

Scottish came out smoking in game 6 with the fumigator working full 
tilt.  Holland starter Danks was yanked in the 4th after allowing 6 
hits and a couple runs and they turned to Corcoran to try and hold 
the righty bats that were giving them trouble.  He wasn't much better 
over his tenure.  However the Dragoons Lilly's old nemesis, Dr. 
Longball, made a reappearance.  Lilly was cruising until lefties 
Thome and Giles took him deep in the 5th to close to gap to 3-2.  
With Scottish up 4-2 in the 6th and a couple on, Atkins pounded his 
3rd home run off of Lilly in the series to give the home side a 5-4 
lead.  The household names of Blevins, Shell and Downs then made that 
lead hold up, Downs fanning pinch hitter Uribe to end the 2009 ADML1 
series.  Jose Reyes walked away with MVP honours thanks to his .360 
ave, 3 triples, 2 home runs and 10 rbi.  He was quoted as saying 
he'll "probably take most of next season off to celebrate."

Thanks to Bob for a great series and it was fitting to get the 
championship by beating the best in the ADML1 over the last few years.
